Dual IS Checker

Dual IS is Panasonic's system for combining body IBIS and lens OIS simultaneously, giving up to 6.5 stops of combined stabilisation. Not every lens activates it on every body. Enter your combination to check compatibility before you buy.

M43 → Full Frame Converter

The M43 2× crop factor affects focal length and depth of field, but not exposure. A 25mm f/1.8 on M43 frames like a 50mm on full frame, but gathers light like a 50mm f/1.8 — not f/3.6. This converter shows both the field-of-view equivalent and the depth-of-field equivalent separately.

Depth of Field Calculator

Calculate the near limit, far limit, total depth of field, and hyperfocal distance for any focal length, aperture, and focus distance. Works for M43, APS-C, and full-frame sensors. Useful for portrait, macro, landscape, and video work where focus precision matters.

Hyperfocal Distance Calculator

Find the focus point that keeps everything from half that distance to infinity acceptably sharp. Pre-set for Micro Four Thirds (CoC 0.015mm). Includes a reference table for common M43 focal lengths and apertures.

Equivalent Settings Calculator

Enter focal length, aperture, ISO, and shutter speed on one sensor format and get the fully equivalent settings on another. Matches field of view, depth of field, and exposure all at once across M43, APS-C, and full frame.

Camera Comparison

Pick any two M43 camera bodies and compare every spec side by side — sensor, IBIS, AF system, video, ports, battery, and price. Differences are highlighted so the trade-offs are immediately visible.

Lens Comparison

Pick any two M43 lenses and compare focal length, aperture, weight, OIS, Dual IS compatibility, close focus distance, and price side by side. Useful when choosing between a budget option and a PRO-series lens, or comparing first-party and third-party alternatives.

Diffraction Limit Finder

M43's small sensor means diffraction kicks in earlier than full frame. Select your camera to find the aperture where diffraction starts affecting sharpness, the practical ceiling for most shooting, and the sweet spot where sharpness peaks.

Teleconverter Calculator

Enter your lens focal length and aperture, select a teleconverter, and instantly see the new effective focal length, full-frame equivalent, aperture, and light loss in stops. Covers the MC-14, MC-20, DMW-TC14, and DMW-TC20.

Macro Magnification Calculator

Find the real magnification and field of view for any M43 lens at its minimum focus distance, with or without an extension tube. Includes a reference table for all macro-capable M43 lenses and extension tube projections for 10mm, 16mm, and 26mm tubes.

Astro Exposure Calculator

Find the longest shutter speed before stars trail on your M43 camera. Uses the NPF rule with your camera's real pixel pitch, which is far more accurate on high-resolution M43 sensors than the old 500 rule. Enter your focal length and aperture for a Milky Way exposure that keeps stars as pin-points.

Deep-Sky Field of View

See how deep-sky targets like the Orion Nebula, Andromeda, and the Pleiades frame on your M43 camera at any focal length. Pick a lens or enter a focal length, choose a target, and see it drawn to scale inside your sensor's field of view, with a reference table of framing at common focal lengths.

Live Composite Star Trail Planner

Plan a star trail shot using Olympus and OM System Live Composite. Work out how many frames to set, the exposure per frame, and how long your trails will be for any focal length, total duration, and pointing direction. Built around the Live Composite feature unique to OM System and Olympus bodies.
