The GF8, released in 2016, was essentially a cosmetic refresh of the GF7 in the same 251g body with the same 16MP Live MOS sensor, fully articulated touchscreen, and Wi-Fi. No viewfinder, no IBIS, no 4K. It was the last of the classic GF line and added little over its predecessor. Used market value is minimal. It replaces the Panasonic Lumix GF7. It has been succeeded by the Panasonic Lumix GF10. At 251g, this is one of the lightest M43 bodies available, 287g below the M43 average of 538g. Step up to the Panasonic Lumix G100D if you want more controls at the cost of 82g extra.
Best for: Everyday and casual photography
Cons
- No in-body image stabilisation
- Contrast-detect AF only, slower on unpredictably moving subjects
- Not weather sealed
