The E-P2 from 2009 was the second Olympus PEN, adding a hot shoe for the optional VF-2 electronic viewfinder over the E-P1. It used the same 12.3MP Live MOS sensor with 3.5-stop IBIS and a fixed non-touch screen at 355g. No 4K, no Wi-Fi. It was aimed at photographers who wanted the rangefinder aesthetic with accessory viewfinder support. A vintage collector piece at this point. It replaces the Olympus PEN E-P1. It has been succeeded by the Olympus PEN E-P3. At 355g, this is one of the lightest M43 bodies available, 183g below the M43 average of 538g. Step up to the OM System OM-5 if you want more controls at the cost of 11g extra.
Best for: Handheld and low-light photography
Pros
- 3.5-stop IBIS for handheld stability
Cons
- Contrast-detect AF only, slower on unpredictably moving subjects
- Not weather sealed
- No 4K video
